CVE-2006-3326: QuickZip 3.06.3 lets attackers replace files using ".."
CVE-2006-3326 · published 20 years ago
Summary
The QuickZip 3.06.3 program can be tricked into writing files to any location on a computer when a specially crafted archive contains ".." sequences in its filenames. An attacker who convinces a user to open such an archive could overwrite important system or application files, potentially leading to unwanted code execution or data loss. Update QuickZip to a newer version or avoid opening archive files from untrusted sources to mitigate the risk.
