CVE-2005-4552: Solaris PC NetLink temp files let local users gain privileges

CVE-2005-4552 · published 20 years ago
Summary

The slsmgr and slsadmin tools in Sun Solaris PC NetLink 2.0 write temporary files in a way that other users on the same machine can read or modify them. Because those files can contain sensitive information, a regular user could exploit this to increase their access rights on the system. Update the software to the latest patch level or apply the vendor's recommended configuration changes to protect the temporary files.
