CVE-2005-2807: frox lets local users read arbitrary files

CVE-2005-2807 · published 21 years ago
Summary

The frox program version 0.7.18 runs with root privileges but fails to give them up when it reads its configuration file. Because of this, a user on the same machine can use the -f option to view parts of any file they choose. Update frox to a version that properly drops privileges or restrict who can run the program.
