CVE-2004-2458: Open WebMail lets attackers create folders without login
CVE-2004-2458 · published 21 years ago
Summary
Open WebMail versions 2.30 and earlier can make new directories before checking a user's credentials when certain settings are used. This means an outsider could create arbitrary folders on the server, potentially planting malicious files or filling storage. Upgrade to a newer version or change the configuration to disable those settings and restrict directory permissions.
