CVE-2004-2008: NukeJokes lets attackers run database commands via joke ID

CVE-2004-2008 · published 22 years ago
Summary

The NukeJokes web component (versions 1.7 and 2 Beta) does not properly check the jokeid input, allowing someone on the internet to send specially crafted requests that execute their own commands on the site's database. This could let an attacker view, alter, or delete data stored by the application. Apply the vendor's update or patch that validates the jokeid parameter, and limit database access rights as a precaution.
