CVE-2004-1798: RealOne Player can run malicious code remotely
CVE-2004-1798 · published 21 years ago
Summary
Versions of RealOne Player, RealOne Enterprise Desktop and RealPlayer (6.0.11.868) can be tricked by a specially crafted multimedia file into executing code on the user's computer. The code runs with the same rights as the user, potentially allowing an attacker to take control of the system. Apply the latest security updates from RealNetworks, disable support for SMIL files if not needed, and ensure only trusted media files are opened.
