CVE-2004-0478: Mozilla browsers can be forced to freeze by malicious script

CVE-2004-0478 · published 22 years ago
Summary

All versions of Mozilla browsers may be tricked by a specially crafted web page that runs a looping script, causing the browser to use a lot of CPU and memory. This can make the browser slow, unresponsive, or crash, affecting anyone who views the page. The fix is to update the browser to the latest version from Mozilla and avoid loading content from untrusted sites.
