CVE-2003-0193: catdoc xlsview lets local user overwrite files
CVE-2003-0193 · published 22 years ago
Summary
The xlsview tool in catdoc versions up to 0.91 creates temporary files with predictable names. A local user can replace those names with a link to any file, causing the program to overwrite that file. Upgrade to a newer catdoc release or restrict who can run xlsview to trusted users to stop the issue.
