CVE-2002-1673: Webmin 0.92 web UI lets local users run scripts

CVE-2002-1673 · published 23 years ago
Summary

The Webmin 0.92 web interface does not correctly filter or escape script code shown in files, so a user who has local access can inject malicious JavaScript into things like the password file view. This could let that user run unwanted scripts in the browser and potentially steal session cookies. Apply the latest Webmin update or patch to fix the input handling, and restrict local account access to the Webmin server.
