CVE-2002-1119: Python lets local users run code via symlink trick

CVE-2002-1119 · published 24 years ago
Summary

The Python programming language creates temporary files with names that can be guessed. This makes it possible for someone with access to the same computer to replace those files with their own malicious version and cause the program to run unwanted code. Update Python to a newer version or apply the recommended patches to stop this from happening.

What to do
  • Update python python to version 2.2.2 or later.
