CVE-2000-1204: Apache 1.3 allows remote reading of CGI source

CVE-2000-1204 · published 26 years ago
Summary

The Apache web server versions 1.3.9, 1.3.11, and 1.3.12 can expose the original code of CGI programs when the cgi-bin folder is placed inside the website's main directory. This lets anyone on the internet view the program’s source, potentially revealing sensitive logic or credentials. Move the cgi-bin directory outside the document root or upgrade to a newer, patched Apache version.
