CVE-1999-1559: Xylan OmniSwitch before 3.2.6 lets attackers skip login and lock out users

CVE-1999-1559 · published 27 years ago
Summary

The OmniSwitch network switch (versions before 3.2.6) can be tricked by sending a special control character, allowing someone to get past the login screen. Because the device only supports one active session, the attacker’s entry also blocks legitimate users from connecting. Update the switch to version 3.2.6 or later, or apply the vendor’s recommended patch, to stop this behavior.
