CVE-1999-0440: Netscape and Java allow malicious web pages to run code
CVE-1999-0440 · published 27 years ago
Summary
The part of the Java runtime that checks code before it runs can be fooled by a specially crafted web page, letting an attacker run programs on a visitor’s computer. This affects Netscape Communicator, Netscape Navigator, and Sun’s Java runtime. Apply the latest security updates for these products or upgrade to a newer browser and Java version, and disable Java in the browser if it isn’t required.
